About Praxis

Learn more about Praxis Health, our commitment to preventative healthcare, and how we help organisations create healthier, more resilient workplaces through professional health screening.

What types of businesses work with Praxis?2026-08-10T17:12:14+00:00

Praxis works with UK businesses that want a clearer understanding of the health and performance factors affecting their workforce. This can range from smaller founder-led teams to larger organisations, with screening tailored to the size and needs of the workforce.

Is Praxis an occupational health service?2026-07-31T00:51:47+00:00

Praxis is a preventative screening service rather than a full occupational health provider.

Occupational health commonly supports issues such as fitness for work, workplace adjustments, sickness absence and return-to-work decisions. Praxis focuses on confidential health assessment and anonymised workforce-level findings.

The services can work alongside one another.

We already provide private medical insurance. Is screening still useful?2026-07-31T00:52:07+00:00

PMI normally helps employees access investigation and treatment once they need medical care.

Screening gives employees an opportunity to review their health before they are seeking treatment. It may also help them use existing healthcare benefits more appropriately.

Is this simply a blood-testing service?2026-07-31T00:52:26+00:00

No.

Blood tests are included in Enhanced and Executive screening, but the consultation also considers cardiovascular health, body composition, respiratory health, mental wellbeing, sleep, lifestyle, workload, energy and physical discomfort.

Essential screening does not include blood tests.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is at the heart of every Praxis Health assessment, ensuring employees can speak openly while employers receive only anonymised, aggregated health insights.

Will the employer see individual results?2026-07-31T00:53:00+00:00

No.

Individual results, questionnaire answers and consultation details are confidential.

The employer receives only anonymised findings across the participating group.

Can an employee choose not to participate?2026-07-31T00:53:19+00:00

Yes.

Participation is voluntary. Employees can also decline a particular test or question during the appointment.

What happens when something concerning is identified?2026-07-31T00:53:38+00:00

The nurse explains the finding privately to the employee and provides clear guidance on what to do next.

Depending on the result, this may involve monitoring, a routine GP appointment or more urgent clinical assessment.

The result is not shared with the employer.

Does the screening diagnose medical conditions?2026-07-31T00:53:54+00:00

No.

Screening can identify measurements, symptoms or patterns that warrant further investigation. Diagnosis and treatment remain the responsibility of the employee’s GP or another appropriate healthcare professional.

Practical Arrangements

Every health assessment is designed to suit your business, conducted in complete confidence, giving employees the privacy they deserve and organisations the insights they need.

How many employees need to participate?2026-07-31T00:54:29+00:00

Company screening can be arranged for different team sizes.

An anonymised Workforce Health Report normally requires at least ten participants to protect confidentiality.

How long are employees away from work?2026-07-31T00:54:44+00:00

Essential appointments last approximately 25 minutes, Enhanced appointments 35 minutes and Executive appointments 50 minutes.

Because screening takes place on site, there is no travelling or waiting-room time.

What space is needed?2026-07-31T00:54:59+00:00

Praxis needs a clean, private room with a door, a desk or table, two chairs, access to electricity and reasonable proximity to handwashing facilities.

All clinical equipment and consumables are supplied.

Are blood tests carried out from a vein?2026-07-31T00:55:14+00:00

No.

The blood markers used by Praxis are measured using small finger-prick samples and point-of-care clinical analysers.

How quickly are results provided?2026-07-31T00:55:36+00:00

Most results are available during the appointment and are explained by the nurse.

The employee’s written report is normally provided within 48 hours. The anonymised employer report usually follows within seven days of the completed screening programme.

Can different employees have different screening options?2026-07-31T00:55:54+00:00

Yes.

For example, a business may choose Enhanced screening for most employees and Executive screening for its senior leadership team.

Praxis will advise on the practical scheduling and suitability of a mixed booking.

Praxis primarily serves London and the South East.

UK-wide delivery may be available for larger screening bookings. Travel and delivery arrangements are agreed in advance.

Is there a benefit-in-kind charge?2026-07-31T00:57:10+00:00

Employers should confirm the application to their organisation with their accountant or tax adviser.

Qualifying medical services delivered by registered health professionals for the protection, maintenance or restoration of health may be exempt from VAT.

The VAT treatment will be confirmed as part of the quotation.

Is there an ongoing contract?2026-07-31T00:57:44+00:00

No.

A company can commission a single screening programme. Annual or follow-up screening can be arranged separately if useful.

After Screening

Our support doesn’t end with the assessment. Where appropriate, Praxis Health provides clear guidance and signposting to help employees take the next steps towards better health, and to help the business thrive long-term..

Can screening be repeated?2026-07-31T00:58:27+00:00

Yes.

Many organisations choose to repeat screening annually. This gives employees an updated health review and enables the organisation to compare anonymised workforce patterns over time.

Does Praxis recommend other providers?2026-07-31T00:58:45+00:00

Where the findings indicate that specialist support would be useful, Praxis may recommend an appropriate type of service or introduce a suitable independent provider.
